Monthly SF Paratransit Debit Card Value Allotment / Requesting Additional Allotment
When you are first enrolled, we will ask you how often you plan to use the taxi service. This helps us determine the amount of taxi value you will be allotted per month. People who are conditionally eligible are expected to only use taxis for trips they cannot take on Muni or BART. SF Paratransit Debit Card limits will be strictly enforced. If you need more than your monthly allotment, you should use the SF Access program which allows unlimited trips.
To determine your monthly allocation—or to request additional value—you must complete specific forms. You may get these forms at the San Francisco Paratransit office or online at www.sfparatransit.com. Once a monthly allotment is determined, you will be assigned a monthly purchase date. You may not purchase value before that purchase date, but you may apply for additional value if needed for a particular month. If you request additional taxi value each month for six consecutive months, we may increase your monthly allotment permanently.
If you add value to your SF Paratransit Debit Card ten or more days after your designated purchase date, we will assign you a new purchase date. That new purchase date will be the same day of the month when you next add value to your SF Paratransit Debit Card.
Any evidence we obtain which points to the possible misuse or abuse of the San Francisco Paratransit taxi program may result in expulsion from the program.

How do I check the balance on my SF Paratransit Debit Card?
There are four ways to check your SF Paratransit Debit Card balance:
- Call the toll free automated voice response system at 877-SFTAXI-1 (877-738-2941) and follow prompts.
- Ask any San Francisco taxi driver to swipe your card at any time to give you your balance.
- Call the SF Paratransit office at 415-351-7052 and ask a customer service representative to check your balance.
- Log onto www.sfparatransit.com, the SF Paratransit website, and check the balance on the account (once this feature is available).
